Our Principal's Message:

We aim to improve education by providing effective teaching methods based on skills and expertise of our educators. Our methodologies change the way people behave and react. Announcements

Dear Parents / Guardians,

I hope you all had an enjoyable week and are looking forward to a quiet and peaceful weekend with your families and friends. Please take note of the following:

SCHOOL WHATSAPP CHAT GROUPS (2026):

You can join the school’s various WhatsApp chat groups by clicking on each relevant Grade’s below:

CELL PHONES AT SCHOOL:

Please be reminded that the school’s policy strictly prohibits the use of cell phones on campus. Recently, there have been several incidents involving students taking inappropriate photos and videos within school premises and posting these on social media platforms. This behaviour is unacceptable and violates privacy standards. We urge you to discuss with your children the legal implications of the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPI Act) and the serious consequences of distributing personal images without consent. Please be advised that smartwatches are not permitted at school due to their capabilities to make and receive calls, as well as capture photos and videos. However, fitness trackers such as Fitbits, which are used solely for step counting and displaying digital time, are allowed. We kindly request your cooperation in adhering to these school regulations.

LATE ARRIVALS AND LATE PICK-UPS:
We regret having to address the ongoing issues with students arriving late to school and being picked up after hours. These delays disrupt the learning environment and place undue pressure on staff. To mitigate this, the following measures will be enforced effective immediately:
  • Students arriving after 07:20 will be marked absent for the day. These absences will be recorded and reported to the Department of Education and will appear on report cards.
  • Students not collected by 14:15 will be referred to social welfare authorities for investigation, as repeated late pick-ups constitute neglect and are legally punishable
  • School gates open at 06:50 and closes at 14:30
  • Please verify your child’s arrival and departure times regularly and contact the school if you have any concerns

ANNUAL FUN DAY REMINDER:
  • 11 September 2026
  • R130 per child
  • 17+ Jumping Castles
  • Amount can be paid off at class teacher
  • Last day to pay: 9 September 2026
  • Food, Beverages and Toys will be for sale on the day
  • Limited to learners only

DISCIPLINE AND STUDENT CONDUCT:

We are deeply concerned about the decline in discipline within the school. Recent weeks have seen increased instances of disrespect toward staff, refusal to engage in lessons, verbal and physical aggression, and theft of student property. While teachers strive to maintain order, they cannot monitor every student continuously. We urge parents to reinforce with their children the importance of respect, responsibility, and honesty.

SCHOOL FEES:

We thank the parents who have recently settled outstanding school fees. Your timely payments enable us to maintain the high-quality education we provide. Prompt fee payment also models financial responsibility for your children. We encourage all parents to fulfil their financial commitments to support the school’s ongoing operations. Special thanks to our regular payers—your continued support is invaluable.

It is with profound disappointment that we are compelled to address you once again regarding the continued non-payment of outstanding school fees owed to Laerskool Paardekraal.
This matter has been communicated repeatedly, and there can no longer be any reasonable expectation that further reminders will be issued indefinitely. School fees are a financial obligation and not a voluntary contribution. Laerskool Paardekraal is a fee-paying school, and the payment of school fees is essential to the continued provision of the educational services, resources, staffing and facilities upon which your child’s education depends.

SCHOOL ATTENDANCE:

Many children are absent regularly and they are missing out on important schoolwork. Please let the school know when your child is not attending school so that alternative arrangements can be made for the child to catch up on lost work. Please note that we have to remove a child from the school’s record when he or she is absent for ten or more days without notification to the school. Should a child return after the ten days, a new enrolment form must be submitted as a person on the waiting list could have taken up that space already. It is therefore important to let the school know when your child is absent.

OFFICE & CLOTHING STORE HOURS:
    • Monday – Thursday: 07:30 – 14:00
    • Friday: 07:30 – 13:00

No money can be accepted after these specified times, for safety and security reasons. Please remember that there are card facilities available at school. It is a more convenient and a safer way of making payments at school. Please make use of this facility or make payments via the internet or direct bank deposits. The school’s banking details are as follows

  • Laerskool Paardekraal
  • ABSA
  • Current Account no – 01005000153
  • Please use your child’s name, surname and grade as a reference and send Proof of Payment by email to joey@paardies.co.za.

GENERAL:
We wish all our families a safe, warm, and restful weekend. Please take the opportunity to spend quality time together. Thank you for your continued support and cooperation.

Feel free to send any comments or suggestions to info@paardies.co.za.
